Now that we are a full month into Texas—Houston included, reopening, people are cautiously getting out and about. Restaurants are flourishing, entertainment venues are navigating the post-lockdown environment and people want to get back to normal. Our Houston limo service is as busy as ever—while being as safe as ever too.
That being said, that doesn’t mean COVID is gone, it’s just putting the responsibility of safety on us—Strong Houstonians. If there is one thing this city knows all too well—it’s surviving crisis to get to the big comeback. It’s been a rough twelve months for all of us and we haven’t even begun to realize the full economic and health impact of the pandemic.
BUT WE ARE HOUSTON STRONG.
At Excelsior, we not only strive to be the best Houston limo service, but we also strive to serve our community. After all, this great city and all the surrounding area is what keeps us around—we need you Houston. We also want our community to stay safe, healthy, happy, and of course— strong.
So, with businesses reopening, state mask mandates being lifted, and capacity restrictions rescinded—how do we do that? What businesses are open, what events are back on, and what can we expect in terms of leisure and nightlife?
Being the preferred Houston limo service for many residents and organizations here, we have to be on top of these things. So, we’ve put together a quick reference guide for coming out of lockdown and discovering Houston again.
We’ve also got the lowdown on what to do in Houston and we’ll be highlighting some ideas in the coming months. What restaurants are back to normal, what entertainment options you have, rescheduled concerts, etc., and your transportation options. So, let’s dive right in and get to L-I-V-I-N Houston!
Are Houston Limo Service Providers Open?
If you’re going to venture out, especially nightlife—you want to make sure you get home safe right? We are adamant about drinking responsibly so please, if you’re going to drink—don’t drive. However, sometimes we don’t plan ahead and we may have one too many and then we get stuck. You have a few options available to you when it’s last call and you’re not safe to drive:
A fly by night, amateur “chauffeur” with no guaranteed safety training, no regular vehicle inspection, and if you’re lucky—maybe a pleasant attitude. Then you have to hope they can find you at your pickup location and don’t just cancel on you. Yeah, rideshares aren’t all they’re cracked up to be. You are getting a cheap substitute for a reputable Houston limo service—except you’re crammed into a Prius. You’re not sure if your driver truly cleared a criminal background check. Additionally, they’ve probably been delivering food all night between passengers so the car could smell like old pizza or McDowells. After a night of drinking—probably not the sensory overload you need.
Let’s see, this is Houston, not NYC, it’s not like you can hail a cab every five seconds. Let’s be honest the Houston metro area is huge, that could be one expensive subpar ride. Not to mention taxis make money off volume—can you really trust them to sanitize between each pickup?
After 1 am? No. Just NO. And let’s keep it real—the Metro system design and mapping are in our opinion, dysfunctional at best.
Excelsior Limo Service Has Been Open—SAFELY
Listen, when it comes to getting quality transportation pre-lockdown, during lockdown, and post-lockdown—we are your best option. Arrogant? No. We’re just confident in the service we offer, and we’ve built a worldwide brand off of our reputation.
Are we open for business? ABSOLUTELY—and we’re the safest and cleanest fleet in the business.
When COVID-19 started to look like it was going to be a pandemic, we were ahead of the curve. As we are always concerned with passenger health and safety we began developing our own protocols. We didn’t wait for the CDC or Fauci. We began instituting our own procedures which went above and beyond what was eventually recommended to transportation companies.
Because we got ahead of the demand for plastic shielding, we were able to sufficiently equip our fleet with innovative options. Minimally intrusive, our driver shields create a crystal-clear safety barrier between passengers and our driver. We also thoroughly disinfect vehicles between each pickup.
Our screening procedure for drivers includes temperature checks, contact tracing methods, and quarantine protocols. We were doing this well before it was even instituted nationwide!
This has allowed us to continue to offer the transportation needs of Houstonians daily. Even though there was a lockdown and demand was way down—many clients still depended on us for transportation.
So, what’s a good reason or occasion to hire the best Houston Limo service in the business? The answer is simple…
Any Occasion Is A Good Occasion For Houston Limo Service
At Excelsior, we welcome a safe return to daily life in Houston as well as travel and responsible social gatherings. However, it’s been so long since people have been out of the house and many will have to rediscover Houston all over again. Many businesses have shuttered, some have used the downtime to remodel, and some newcomers have sprung up to fill the void.
So, take the time and get to know Houston again post lockdown with limo service to some of these new spots. This month, we’re focusing on Houston’s newest restaurants, but keep coming back— we’ll highlight other things to do in future blogs.
Check Out These New Restaurants
7202 Long Point Rd
Houston, TX 77055
This brand-new Spring Branch neighborhood taste destination offers a well-thought-out tasting menu. The selections from Chef Brandon Silva will change often, but you can expect an intriguing spread of Spanish and regional Mexican creations. A sampling of the rotating lineup includes thin-sliced venison with salsa Jalisco and blue corn. Additionally, one of the most interesting dishes is the Gulf fish ceviche —when it’s gone, it’s gone. This Asian twist on traditional ceviche comes with a pop of sishitos and satsuma mandarins—buen provecho!
2617 McKinney St
Houston, TX 77003
If you’re a fan of EaDo favorite, Nancy’s Hustle, then you will be intrigued by this sister spot and interesting menu. Obsessed with fermentation-based dishes such as in-house crafted pickles with fennel salami, the creativity is out there. Take, for example, ice cream topped with toasted almond, “choco- cookie” crumbs, and—bay leaf whipped cream? We’re bewildered too, however, it’s deliciously different. We give it a thumbs up for a rollercoaster ride for your tastebuds and worth a few repeat rides—buckle up!
113 6th St
San Leon, TX 77539
What better excuse to call your favorite Houston limo service than a ride down to the Gulf Coast? If it’s a beautiful bay view sunset dinner you’re after—this is the spot. The first venture into the restaurant business by famous oyster purveyor, Prestige Oysters—Pier 6 should be renamed Pier 10. It hits all the marks with most fish selections locally sourced and only the freshest oysters. Don’t skip the delightful blue crab grilled cheese sandwich either—complete with old bay kettle chips.
Trouble Deciding Where to Eat? Try Them All!
How many times have you driven around with your partner, friends, or family for an hour trying to decide where to eat? Surely, it can’t just be us. Either way, for a unique and fun way to use our Houston limo service—try a progressive culinary tour.
A progressive culinary tour is a fun way to experience several different restaurants in one convenient outing. It’s somewhat like a pub crawl, but you should be able to remember most of this tour. Many people are doing this and documenting it on YouTube and other social media platforms. We can give you an idea so you can plan your own and leave the driving to us.
The concept is pretty simple, let’s take a four-course as an example:
- You start with an appetizer at your first location, it’s even more fun when you go in a group as you can taste more things.
- We pick you up and take you to your next eatery and you may get a soup or a salad. Be adventurous try things outside of your culinary comfort zone.
- Then you head on to your next location and go for your main course. You can follow common pairings or go completely off-script and mix things up.
- Your final destination is for dessert, a nightcap, or both. We recommend restaurants that make their desserts in-house for a better experience.
